How We Deliver Cargo

The type of transport has an influence on shipment price. Plane is considered the most expensive transport. Transportation is carried out by passenger or cargo flights, going by connecting or direct flight to the destination: St. Petersburg, Moscow, Vladivostok. It is used in case of tight deadlines and for valuable types of products weighing up to 1000 kg. Delivery time is up to 4 days. In case of application of multimodal scheme, it may take up to 14 days.

A popular method of product transportation is transportation by sea vessels. It is the most profitable, safest but the longest option. It is intended for large volumes of products, containerized cargo. It is often included in multimodal (combined) transportation method when two or more types of vehicles are used. From the warehouse of the Chinese supplier the products are delivered by road transport to a sea port and then go by sea to a port in Russia, after which the cargo is again transshipped into the trucks and delivered to the warehouse of the recipient. MW-Trade works in the territory of the ports of St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, Novosibirsk, and Klaipeda (Lithuania).

Shipping freight by rail provides an optimal balance in terms of cost and time. Transportation is carried out in containers by trains and high-speed trains. Delivery time is about 14 days. The route runs from the north of the PRC, then along the Harbin railroad, through the border of Manchuria and Zabaikalsk, Kamyshovaya and Hunchun, Suifenhe and Ussuriysk, then along the Trans-Siberian railway (Russian Federation) to the final point.

The road route goes along the Far Eastern and Central Asian corridors. Delivery time is from 20 to 35 days. It is actively used in the direction of the European and CIS countries, where there is a well-developed road infrastructure.

Customs Clearance

Purchase of goods in China for commercial activity in the territory of Russia is accompanied by the procedure of customs clearance. It is carried out at one of the border checkpoints and requires a certain order and sequence of actions:

submission of a declaration with correct classification of goods according to the CN FEA (Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity (HS)) codes and detailed description of the products transported
preparation and submission of the supporting set of documents: international contract with a partner, invoice, packing list, technical papers, bill of lading, certificates of permission, licenses (depending on the nature of the cargo)
payment of customs fees, VAT
arrival at the customs checkpoint, where customs officers check the authenticity of the documents, compliance of the declared data, cargo inspection and release from customs.

If there are issues related to the cargo, the inspector has the right to request additional information and detain the goods until the situation is resolved.
